Serhou Guirassy and Borussia Dortmund did something special in 2025: they won against Barcelona. But this win was not enough to get to the Champions League semifinals.

Even though Guirassy scored three goals, his team lost. Dortmund won the game 3-1 against Barcelona. This was the first time Barcelona had lost since December. But over two games, Dortmund won 5-3 in total. This means Guirassy's team was out of the competition.

After losing the first game 4-0, Dortmund had nothing to lose and attacked Barcelona from the start, which surprised the visitors.

Barcelona's coach, Hansi Flick, said the game would be hard because the Dortmund fans are very loud. He said this even though his team was already winning by four goals.

Flick said, "I felt a little bit that this would happen." He also said, "Today, we should say well done to Dortmund. They played very well. And well done to my team. They are in the semi-finals."

The Barcelona players Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski didn't score goals like they usually do in the game.

Coach Niko Kovac said Guirassy is very important for Dortmund. After the game, Guirassy was number one for scoring goals in the Champions League. Kovac said Guirassy's teammates helped him, just like all players who score goals need help from their teammates.

Dortmund probably lost the quarterfinal in the first game. Also, their captain Emre Can and midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka could not play because they were injured that day.

For a time, Guirassy played very well and it felt like he could do anything.

Guirassy missed chances before, but he scored a penalty after the Barcelona goalkeeper hit Pascal Gross.

Guirassy scored with his head to make the score 2-0 after 49 minutes. Then, Ramy Bensebaini accidentally kicked the ball into his own goal. This made it very hard for Dortmund. Fermín López kicked the ball low across the goal, and it hit Bensebaini's foot and went in. This was bad for Dortmund because Bensebaini had just helped Guirassy score the second goal for Dortmund a little before.

Guirassy scored his third goal in the 76th minute after Ronald Araujo made a mistake. This goal meant he had scored the most goals in the Champions League this season, with 13 goals.

This gave Dortmund hope to win, like Barcelona did against Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, but Barcelona kept their lead and won.

Barcelona will play against Inter Milan or Bayern Munich in the next game. This is the first time since 2019 that they are in the semifinals of the Champions League. In the other game on Tuesday, PSG also got to the semifinals. They won 5-4 in total against Aston Villa, even though they lost the second game 3-2.

Barcelona lost this game. They had not lost since December 21. They had also not lost in the Champions League since September. The team had only lost seven times in 50 games with this coach. The coach had won all seven games against Dortmund before this.

Dortmund might not play in the Champions League for a while.

Last year, they were second in the Champions League. Now they are eighth in the German league. There are five games left, and they need six more points to get into the top four teams for the Champions League next year.
