Actor Will Forte thought "Coyote vs. Acme" must have been bad when Warner Bros. canceled it.
He and his wife went to a private showing with the cast and crew to say goodbye.
Forte said the film was special.
So the cancellation was frustrating and very sad.
Warner Bros. CEO David Zaslav decided not to spend $30-40 million on marketing.
The studio took a tax write-off on the $70 million production instead.
The film was put away with "Batgirl" and "Scoob! Holiday Haunt."
Almost three years later, the movie is back.
After people complained publicly, Warner Bros. sold it to Ketchup Entertainment for about $50 million.
It will come out on Aug. 28.
Voice actor Eric Bauza said he did not believe it until he saw the poster at his local cinema.
The film's story is like what happened to it.
In the movie, Wile E. Coyote takes Acme to court over bad products.
Director Dave Green said the film now has a strange quality.
Filmmakers and politicians asked for its release.
Bauza even asked for it at the Annie Awards in the voice of Daffy Duck.
Green said the hard time showed that artists will keep making things.
Forte said the experience taught him to trust no one but also to not give up hope.
