AI stocks fell around the world on Monday.
Leaders in the AI industry said the world needs to slow down AI.
They said this is safer for people.
Oil prices also went up early.
The 10-year Treasury yield briefly hit 5%.
But many non-AI stocks went up.
Oil prices also went down at midday.
So Wall Street did not lose too much.
The S&P 500 fell only 0.5%.
More stocks in it went up than down.
The Dow fell 152 points, or 0.3%.
The Nasdaq fell 0.6%.
It had been down 1.3% early, then it got most of that back.
AI stocks were already weak.
People worried their prices were too high.
Then Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei spoke.
He said the world should slow down AI on purpose.
He said AI is not safe.
Nvidia fell 3.4%.
It hurt the market the most.
SpaceX fell 2%.
Elon Musk said he agreed with Amodei.
SoftBank Group lost 10.7% in Tokyo.
OpenAI's Sam Altman also said slowing down is a good idea.
Altman told Fortune that OpenAI will probably wait until next year to sell its stock to the public.
This delays money for SoftBank and other early investors.
South Korea's Kospi fell 3.3%.
Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix lost value.
President Donald Trump said we do not need to slow down AI.
He said he worries about losing to China.
He wrote on social media that the only guardrail needed is a strong and smart president.
Some software stocks went up.
They include Intuit, Autodesk, and Adobe.
Oil kept going up.
Fighting in the Middle East is limiting oil supplies.
Brent rose 1% to $105.68.
It had come close to $110.
The 10-year Treasury yield later went down to 4.98%.
