JetZero Inc., a new company from California, plans to build a factory in North Carolina for its advanced passenger jet. This project could create more than 14,500 jobs in the area over the next ten years. The company intends to invest $4.7 billion in a factory at Greensboro's airport to produce its Z4 aircraft. This plane has a special blended-wing design that is expected to be 50% more fuel-efficient than current airliners. United Airlines and Alaska Airlines have already invested in this project and made agreements to buy planes. The project also includes a research center for new materials and could receive over $2.35 billion in state and local financial support by the 2060s. JetZero aims to have its planes flying by the early 2030s, producing 20 aircraft each month. The company will first focus on a commercial jetliner with about 250 seats that can fly 5,000 nautical miles.
