Warner Bros. Discovery is planning to divide its cable TV business from its streaming service. This is happening because more people are canceling their cable subscriptions. The streaming and studios company will include HBO, Warner Bros. Television, and DC Studios. The cable company will have CNN, TNT Sports, Discovery, popular free TV channels in Europe, and digital products like Discovery+ and Bleacher Report. David Zaslav will be in charge of the streaming and studios company, and Gunnar Wiedenfels will lead the cable company, called Global Networks. They expect to finish this separation by the middle of next year, after the board gives its final approval. This big change is happening because the cable TV industry is facing more challenges due to streaming services and other internet options.
