A Japanese company, AESC, stopped building a big factory in South Carolina for a short time. They said it's because of unclear rules and market problems. The factory was going to make batteries for BMW electric cars. The governor thinks they stopped because of possible changes to money help for electric cars. AESC says they will still hire 1,600 people and spend $1.6 billion, as they promised. They already spent $1 billion on the factory. Another company will build electric SUVs in South Carolina by 2027. People are worried that new taxes from President Trump could hurt business with foreign companies like BMW.
