A recent survey by the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China shows that European companies are spending less money and investing less in China. This is because the economy is slowing down and there is strong competition, which is making prices go down. The economic problems are made worse by a real estate crisis and more resistance from Europe and the US to Chinese products being sold more. All of these things have had a bad effect on these businesses. The survey also suggests that government help has caused too much investment in areas like electric cars, leading to more products than people want to buy. This extra supply has started strong price wars and made companies look for markets in other countries. In Europe, people are worried that more imports from China could harm local businesses and jobs. Because of this, the EU has put extra taxes on Chinese electric cars, saying that China gives unfair help to its companies. The survey shows that businesses continue to feel less confident and make less profit.
