Salesforce is planning to buy Informatica, a major company that manages cloud data using AI, for about $8 billion. Informatica's shareholders will get $25 per share, which is about 11% more than the price last Friday. This purchase will greatly improve Salesforce's ability to manage data, especially in important areas like government, healthcare, and financial services. Both companies agree on their goal to help businesses use data effectively in the age of AI. The deal has been approved by both company boards and is expected to be completed early in Salesforce's fiscal year 2027. After the announcement, Salesforce's shares went up slightly, while Informatica's stock increased by 5.7%. Informatica had been a private company in 2015 before becoming public again in 2021.
