Companies buy things from other countries. They pay extra money (tariffs). This makes things cost more for people. Some people think this will help the US. But many things we buy come from many countries. So, things in shops may cost more.

Shops and people who buy things know this. Some big shops say prices will go up because of the trade.

Walmart said on Thursday: prices will go up. This is because of new taxes.

Walmart sells many things. Most of them are from the U.S. But some things cost more now. This started in April. It will cost even more in June and July. That is when people buy things for school.

John said: Food and other things cost more now. For example, bananas cost more. Car seats at Walmart will cost more too.

Mattel makes Barbie dolls and Hot Wheels cars. Mattel said they will sell them for more money. This is because things cost more now.

In May, the price of Xbox went up. For example, Xbox Series S is now $379 in the U.S.

Microsoft said: "This is not easy." This was on May 1. They talked about Xbox. They said it is because of money.

Microsoft said the price of Xbox is different in Europe, the U.K., and Australia. Other countries will know soon. Some new games will cost more, about $80.

Temu and Shein said prices are up. This is because of new rules.

In April, things cost more. It is because of a rule about items from China. Now, the USA and China made a deal. Some things are cheaper, but they still cost more than before.

Temu stopped sending things from China. Now, they use shops in the U.S. Shein says you pay all costs when you buy. You do not pay more when they bring it to you.

Stanley has a shop. He makes tools. The tools cost more now. He will ask for more money in July.
