Actor Sam Neill died from pneumonia, his agent said on Thursday.

The agent, Philip Grenz, spoke after news reports he called inaccurate.

Neill died Monday in Sydney, his family had earlier announced.

Grenz said Neill had beaten lymphoma through a treatment called CAR-T therapy before he got sick.

The New Zealand actor shared his lymphoma diagnosis in 2023 and said he was cancer-free in April this year.

Neill filmed four projects in the past year that are coming out soon.

His family will hold a private memorial at his New Zealand farm at a later date.

Grenz said Neill was very private and hated a fuss.

Tributes came from colleagues including director Taika Waititi and Steven Spielberg.

Neill was known for films such as “Jurassic Park” and “The Piano.”

He was also a wine maker and produced wine under his Two Paddocks brand.

He is survived by four children and eight grandchildren.
